Broad Machining Capabilities

After aluminum has been extruded, it is sent to the machining center to be cut, sawed, and processed. Our aluminum fabrication capabilities include precision sawing, horizontal machining and manufacturing, extra large CNC machining, 5-axis CNC machining, multiaxis machining, and a vertical machining center. Taber’s cut tolerances cover length and squareness of cut (up to +/- .050″) across a maximum 36″ width (minimum cut length of .75″).

Haas VF-7

Aluminum Fabrication Haas VF-7

The Haas VF-7 is a rugged, large-sized VMC that yields full reliability and accuracy in a large-framed machine. The VF-7 has a 40-taper cartridge spindle driven by a 30 hp vector Dual-Drive (Y-Delta) drive. The VF-7 produces either 75 ft-lb of torque at a low 1400 rpm, or 250 ft-lb at 450 rpm with the optional 2-speed gearbox — and will also run up to 8,100 rpm in 1.2 seconds for finishing aluminum.

EMMEGI Satellite XT

Emmegi Satellite XT allows for efficient work-piece machining advantages in pendulum mode including multiple set-ups. The work space of our longbed machining center can be divided into two areas, granting us the ability to load and unload on one side while machining on the other side. This expedited machining process saves our customers time and money, while delivering Taber’s definitive level of quality.

OKK Horizontal Machining Center

The HMC500 comes fully loaded with features for incredibly fast cycle times. Achieving 20% faster rapid and acceleration than our phenomenally fast HM500S machine, the HMC500 is constructed with a lightweight column featuring a rigid stepped X axis rail design. This column enables a rapid feed rate of 63 meters per minute, 2480 inches per minute, with acceleration of 1G.

Zeiss CMM

Through highly accurate scanning technologies, our Zeiss CMM has the ability to capture a fully defined 3D measurement for any of our extruded and fabricated profiles. Having this capability allows us to verify process capability and ensure that our customers receive the highest levels of quality.

Aluminum Precision Cutting & Sawing

BO Saws B-800

B&O’s B-800 Series are complete systems designed for production cutting of bars or extrusions to close tolerances. The system uses a computer controlled back-gauge system for accurate sawing performance and improved throughput. The saws are available in a fixed arbor design and the belted drive motor is 50 HP. Saw blades can range from 18″-28″ in diameter for an 1 and 1/2″ bore arbor. Available in both right-hand and left-hand models to accommodate material flow in either direction.

Marvel Band Saw

Marvel’s Spartan series of horizontal post style saws feature touch screen controls, a fully adjustable hydraulic down feed, automatic chip removal, an more. Taber’s horizontal post style saw is a heavy-duty, double column, horizontal, metal cutting band saw with 15 H.P., 2-5/8″ blade, and a capacity of 28” x 32”. Hydraulic controlled solid carbide blade guides are actuated when the machine’s hydraulic system is started to assure the blade is held taut for fast, accurate cuts.
